प्रीम कोर्ट ने साफ कर दिया है कि विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण (SIR) के मामले में चुनाव आयोग ने कुछ भी अपनी शक्तियों से बाहर जाकर नहीं किया है. भारत के इलेक्शन कमीशन के पास SIR जैसी कार्रवाई करने का पूरा अधिकार है. बिहार में मतदाता सूची के एसआईआर को चैलेंज करने वाली याचिकाओं पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ये फैसला सुनाया है.
The Supreme Court has clarified that, in the matter of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Election Commission has not acted beyond the scope of its powers. The Election Commission of India possesses full authority to undertake measures such as the SIR.
